Fried chicken

If you want to know where to get good fried chicken ask our housekeeper Charlene who assumed we didn't have fried chicken in England and kept saying "uhhh huh" and double snapping her fingers.

So apparently the best place is Jestine's kitchen - so off we went for lunch after the fort.  It was pretty damn good.

As was the meatloaf.

Mac 'n' cheese is basically considered a vegetable here...

We potted for the afternoon and made good use of our porch and then it was dinner time! Clare ticked off she-crab soup from her list and oyster shooters -

Then off to a dessert and cocktail bar before rolling home.

The following day we went on a horse drawn carriage tour - which followed Clare's route and proved she was an amazing tour guide.

Before stopping for a famous benne wafer, moon pie and RC.

We are embracing Southen culture.  Off to Savannah...
